The 2024 Ilford ULF Campaign is Underway!
The Ilford ULF Campaign is the once-a-year opportunity to order various ULF film formats. Here is a quick FAQ to walk you through everything you need to know about ULF!

ULF stands for “Ultra Large Format” but typically means any format outside of the standard sheet film sizes of 4x5, 5x7 and 8x10. This can include smaller formats such as 2.25x3.25 for example, or larger formats such as 16x20. There are some non-sheet formats included as well, like 46mm bulk rolls used for spooling 127 format.

ULF film is not made year-round. Instead Ilford dedicates a specific part of the year for production runs of ULF formats. They precede this with an open-window for orders to be placed and then produce the film on-demand to match incoming orders. Essentially, you have a single opportunity every year to order ULF film from Ilford and they then produce the film per orders placed.

The ordering window generally opens in spring and closes in early summer. For 2024, the deadline for placing orders is June 1st!

After all orders are submitted Ilford delivers finished ULF films sometime between October to December… give or take a few weeks.

Hold your horses there friend. Not all of Ilford’s films are available for ULF manufacture. The only three film stocks available for this program are FP4, HP5 and Delta 100. And not all sizes are available in each emulsion.
A quick sample of available sizes by film:
Delta 100: 13x18cm, 4x10in, 6x7in, 11x14in and 16x20in.FP4: 7x11in, 7x17in, 10x12in, 8in by 100ft, 8x16in, 18x24cm.
HP5: 2.25x3.25in, 3.25x4.25in, 5x12in, 6.5x9cm, 14x17in and 20x24in.This is not an exhaustive list but rather is meant to demonstrate the variety of formats available. Please contact us to inquire as to a specific format and emulsion combination.

Easy peasy! Simply contact us here at Blue Moon Camera and Machine. Let us know the format/film you are interested in purchasing. We can provide a current price and send you an invoice. All orders require payment at the time the order is placed. Once the film is delivered in the autumn or winter we will contact you to update you on its arrival or ship it out if you are having us mail the film on to you.

Otherwise, be sure to bookmark this page and we will update it every year when the new campaign is launched. You can also place yourself on the Wait List for ULF films on our site, or by contacting us directly, and we will notify you when next year’s ordering window opens.

Sure! We keep a limited supply of ULF film in inventory and you can find that with this link here. Please note that we have placeholder listings for several ULF items but not all products are represented in our current inventory. Also be forewarned that pricing updates every year and some pricing on our site may change when a new campaign is launched. Finally, since many of these products are often out of stock, you do have the option of placing yourself on the Wait List for them but this is not sufficient to get film ordered. We only submit completed and paid orders to Ilford for ULF film.
